You know you miss it. No matter how many times you complained about the lights being switched off too early, or it was just impossible to produce the best results in the world whilst still being able to juggle the orchestra, sports and every other extra-curricular activity you can think of, or even not being able to go home as often as you can… you just know you miss it. Personally, I think it was because the people I’ve met during my time of residence in KYS. It is where I’ve spent most of my teenage years, trying to get used to the ever expanding possibilities in life, meeting a lot of different people from different parts of which some I might not have met until entering university if I had not left my hometown of Subang Jaya, getting used to the principles of prioritizing and bits of political practices that I KNOW I will have to face again in the future. I miss those times. I’m sure a lot of us do. It is very easy to keep in touch. No matter how far apart we are, or whether or not we’ve spent time together in that prestigious school in Ayer Keroh, we all have Kolej Yayasan Saad in common. And now, even if you have left KYS, you can now feel at ease that there is always a place where you can go to, to find those people you’ve snuck out from dorms at night with, those who sold buns at the bunstall, those you’ve perhaps once or twice agreed to meet at the locker with, who was your constant ‘teman’ at the café, those you blew up part of the chemistry lab with, those who hid under the bed from Ibu with you during prep, those who shared your dorm, those who were in the same class, same batch, same year, same school… those who you’ve graduated with and whom you’ve watched graduate and became KYSERs… See you online. :) By, Marisa Aisha Mohamed Razeek @ Mars Head Girl 02/03 Crazed |

If you've chanced upon this website, the foremost conclusion that can be made is that once upon a time, you've studied at the 'Centre of Excellence'. Although it was a self-proclaimed statement, it did not in any way detract from the truth of it. It was, and still is a fantastic school, a place which surely, you must be proud to claim as your alma mater. Regardless of the experiences and your claims during those years when you were there ('this place is horrible', 'Overnight.. nak balik', 'Sleep.. need sleep'), everything seems better on hindsight. After you left, the terrible experiences were softened by time.. and now you look back with fondness. During occasional instances when you meet up with friends, the conversation will invariably turn to those days, and anecdotes abound. Guess what? Now you have the online variant of the kedai kopi where it's possible to link up with people you knew. Close friends who've grown apart through time and distance, indifferent classmates, scary seniors who seem much nicer once you've all grown older and bratty juniors who doesn't seem to be that bad after all. The fact that further studies have scattered us around the globe need not be a barrier. The fact that you'll meet people here whom you've never met is also not an excuse to not mingle. All of us who claim to be from Kolej Yayasan Saad share a bond that should transcend time and space. Here, you'll meet people, some familiar, some strangers, but rest assured that they'll understand the spirit of the school. After all, the true institutiuon of KYS is not in the buildings nor the teachers, who come and go, but rather from the lessons you've learned during your time there. Let the spirit live on here. Get to know your seniors/juniors who you've never met, catch up with the people you knew but have lost touch with, join the discussions in the forums, share your experiences for the benefit of those coming after you, keep everyone up to date with your latest news. Build a network of KYSers, strenghten it by making sure as many people as possible are aware of this site's existence. Together, we attain great heights! That being said, let the pride of coming from the best school in Malaysia live on. By, Nur Syazeleen Mustafa Head Girl 03/04 Advocators |
